Welding wire is produced by a variety of processes, including rolling, casting, continuous pouring and liquid extrusion.

For example, some alloys such as cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy cannot be forged, rolled and drawn, but are made by casting.

Continuous casting and liquid extrusion can produce several meters of cobalt-chromium-tungsten welding wire for automatic wire-filling tungsten gas arc welding to improve welding efficiency and surfacing layer quality.

Characteristics and uses

Characteristics: The welding wire has different characteristics in the welding process, such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, etc. These characteristics vary according to the type and material of the welding wire. For example, ER50-6 welding wire is a low-carbon structural steel welding wire, its tensile strength is greater than 500 mpa, yield strength is greater than 420 mpa, elongation is greater than 22 percent, with excellent plasticity, toughness and crack resistance.
